Aston Villa
It is strange that, having been taken to a football match at an early age, one supports that team for the rest of one's life. It is about 40 years since I lived in Birmingham but I doubt that there has been a Saturday evening, during the football season, that I haven't looked for the result of the Villa match. |

Computers
I started work in the computer industry [it was then called Data Processing] in 1968 for NAAFI where I used an Honeywell 200. The picture on the right is a 1200 model (32K memory) of about 1969 at Abbey National. My first PC was a Tandy TRS-80 with 4k of memory. I have replaced my personal computer every three years since that time. |

Politics
Inspired by Jo Grimond, I joined the Liberal Party in 1960. I first stood for election in Churchill Ward, Westminster, in 1968, as a Liberal. This was followed by fighting the 1970 General Election for Chislehurst and Sidcup. Since then I have fought countless local elections in Westminster, Bromley and Tower Hamlets, plus two GLC elections, and served in all offices of my local Liberal associations. |

Photography
I set up my first dark-room in 1976 and have been taking pictures ever since. My specialism is photo-journalism and for a time I combined two interests by being the Liberal News photographer in my spare time. I now have a digital camera and the dark-room is my computer. David Steel used this picture at the back of one of his books. |
